Description: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has lashed out at Israel for committing atrocities against the people of Palestine, saying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions are akin to Adolf Hitler. Addressing a National Assembly session on Monday, Shehbaz, who is also the Opposition Leader in the lower house of parliament, urged the international community particularly Muslim countries to take action to protect the Palestinians from Israel’s aggression. ???? ??? ???? ????? ???? ???? ??? ???? ?? ???????? ???????? ???? ?? ??? ???? ??? ???? ????? ???? ?????? ??? ???? ???? ??? ???? ?? ??????? ?????? ?????? ?????? ??? ??? ???? ???? pic.twitter.com/cXdPLiTF37 — Shehbaz Sharif (????? ?? ??????) (@CMShehbaz) May 17, 2021 While referring to Holocaust, Shehbaz said Israeli PM Netanyahu is committing crimes against Palestinians in the same manner that Hitler did with Jews in Germany. “Today Netanyahu is standing at the same place where Hitler was,” he remarked. “Israeli Prime Minister is today’s Hitler!” he said in a tweet later. Israeli Prime Minister is today’s Hitler! — Shehbaz Sharif (????? ?? ??????) (@CMShehbaz) May 17, 2021 He urged the government to take all-out measures to highlight the plight of the people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). “We are racing against time, please do all possible lobbying to highlight Israel and India's nefarious designs in IIOJK and Palestine,” he remarked. Shehbaz while quoting the Human Rights Watch report said Israel is involved in apartheid. “Leadership of Islamic countries must come together without wasting time, if we do not raise our voice today, history will not forgive us,” he added. He said world powers would have acted promptly and taken strict measures if any Muslim country had done the same what Israel is doing in Palestine. The PML-N president said it’s a “cruel joke” that any Jew living anywhere in the world can become a citizen of Israel whereas thousands of Palestinians have been forced out of their native land. “Dozens of children, hundreds of people including women have been martyred in Palestine, media offices, buildings have been demolished, the world has never seen such brutality before,” he added. He demanded of the government to observe the upcoming Friday as ‘Al-Quds Day’ to express solidarity with the people of Palestine. He urged the National Assembly to pass a unanimous resolution to condemn Israeli aggression and the text of the resolution should be shared with the United Nations mission in Islamabad. Shahbaz proposed that relief goods should immediately be dispatched through the OIC and the Red Crescent to help the oppressed Palestinians. Gaza residents cowered indoors on Monday after Israeli jets pounded the enclave, as violence that has killed more than 200 people — overwhelmingly Palestinian — entered a second week. Before dawn, in the space of just a few minutes, dozens of Israeli strikes bombarded the crowded Palestinian coastal strip controlled by Hamas, according to AFP journalists and the army. Flames lit up the sky as intense explosions shook Gaza city, sparking widespread power cuts and damaging hundreds of buildings, local authorities said. Some 3,100 rockets have also been fired by Palestinians towards Israel since conflict escalated on May 10 in the heaviest exchange of fire between the rivals in years, sparked by unrest in Jerusalem.
