Title: Forensic teams scour Aamir Liaquat's residence for 'evidence'

The forensic staff and other investigating officers, including senior superintendent (SSP) East, reached Aamir Liaquat Hussain's house to collect evidence after the Karachi-based politician and entertainer passed away on Thursday.
According to SSP East Rahim Shirazi, the police received information regarding the lawmaker's death at about 1pm. He informed that the lawmaker lived with two of his employees, one of whom had informed the police.
Aamir Liaquat was found unconscious in a locked room at his Karachi residence and was rushed to a hospital where he passed away.
The SSP stated that the crime scene unit was called to the house to collect evidence. “An investigation has been started, taking various angles into account. The postmortem report will make things clearer,” he said.
He further maintained that no member of Aamir Liaquat's family was present at his house.
'No ventilation in room'
Standing inside the room that appeared to be where the lawmaker's body was found, Aamir Liaquat's neighbour, who identified himself as Jamshed Kazi, told the crime scene team that the “generator gas was such that Dr sahab [Aamir Liaquat] did not have any ventilation”.

“People started gathering outside the house, making a ruckus," the neighbour said, adding that he had probably expired by the time he was taken to the hospital.
Due to Aamir Liaquat’s death, today’s National Assembly session was adjourned till 5 pm tomorrow.
Background
Before joining the PTI, Aamir was a member of the MQM-P. He had served as state minister during the government of military dictator Gen Pervez Musharraf. He got elected to the National Assembly twice: in 2002 and 2018.
The televangelist was born on July 5, 1972. He is survived by two children.
Aamir was a popular host of Ramazan transmissions, game shows which run pre- and post-Iftaar during the holy month. Starting his media career in 2001 after joining a private news channel, he hosted Aalim Online, which contributed greatly to his early popularity.
He continued hosting Ramazan shows throughout his career.
Aamir was also a controversial figure during the past few years. His multiple marriages, his political statements and lately his leaked videos all caused controversy. After his private videos were leaked, he stated that he had "no choice but to leave the country after this fiasco".
