    Govt Urges ECP To Review Order For Removal Of IG DC 44269
    Description: The government informed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday prime minister’s adviser Ahad Cheema had been de-notified and asked the polls supervisor to review its order for the removal of the inspector general of police and deputy commission of Islamabad. A four-member ECP bench, led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the matter pertaining to Ahad Cheema's removal from office. The Establishment Secretary told the bench that the notification for the removal of Cheema from his had been issued. Read  President approves removal of Ahad Cheema as PM's advisor Regarding the removal of the Islamabad’s IG and DC, the secretary informed the ECP that the interior ministry has issued a report by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) regarding the law and order situation in the capital and it had requested that these two officers should be retained in their current posts. The secretary requested the ECP to reconsider its decision about the IG and DC Islamabad. The CEC said that the bench would review the ministry report. However, he told the secretary to continue looking for the replacement of these officers and adjourned the matter until Wednesday (today).
