It's a proud moment for me because, just as I have kept evolving myself - my father was a writer and director and my mother was in films - I had to pay back their due right. That's been transferred to Bahisht. She's going to NCA from where she's getting her degree, after which she will, God willing, start direction, writing, acting, and singing."
Explaining how it is every parent's dream that their child carries on the family legacy, Shaan furthered, "I've never differentiated between a son and a daughter. I'm happy that it's my offspring that will move forward and create a name, while also making the nation proud." When asked for tips, Shaan stated that his daughter must perfect what he could not - lying. "People don't have the courage to hear the truth," he asserted.
Bahisht, when questioned about feeling any pressure, replied, "Anyone in this family would feel pressure but you can't with (Shaan's) presence. When Baba is with me, I think I can conquer the world." Addressing the nepotism debate, Shaan said, "Artists, too, have a right that they push their second or third generation forward. That right doesn't solely lie with politicians."
