The action-drama, slated for release on Eid al-Fitr 2026, brings together a powerhouse cast including Mahira Khan, Tabish Hashmi, and veteran Javed Sheikh.
Speaking to Sunday Times journalist Ameer Taimoor on the red carpet, Fahad reflected on his transition from actor to filmmaker. “It is my first production, yes, as a filmmaker but I've done a lot of films, tou is baar pata nahi mujhe kiun keera kaata aur mein ne film produce kr li,” he joked.
“I hope ye keera phal phool kr grow kray ga aur ham bohat saray paise kamayein gay aur log bohat enjoy krein gay is film ko dekh kr, tou phir maza aaye ga otherwise bohat tabaahi ho jaye gi.”
Fahad’s remarks came amid an evening that showcased a star-studded audience, including Mahira Khan, Tabish Hashmi, Javed Sheikh, CEO ARY Digital Network Mohammad Jerjees Seja, Shazia Wajahat, Humayun Saeed, Salman Iqbal’s wife Sonya Salman, Dr Ali Kazmi, Irfan Malik, and others.
The trailer, released shortly after the launch, already set social media abuzz with viewers praising Fahad and Mahira’s sharp dialogues and chemistry.
Tabish Hashmi, making his debut in films, shared his excitement about working on the project, saying, “Bohat maza aaya, jaise Bilal ne narrate kia, aisa laga ke mein kar loon ga.”
The ensemble cast also features cameo appearances from popular social media stars, including Marzi Razaki and the “Acha ji, aisa hai kya?” meme creator Samra Shehzadi, adding a contemporary flair to the film.
Produced under the banners of ARY Films, Salman Iqbal Films, and Big Bang Films, and directed by Bilal Atif Khan, Aag Lagay Basti Mein promises a mix of high-octane action and witty, engaging storytelling, centered around a poverty-stricken home and how the couple taps into unlawful ways of earning, and the challenges they face.
