The exchange began when Mishi Khan shared a post scrutinising Hania’s frequent use of a hand gesture in photographs – with the thumb, index and pinky fingers extended –suggesting it resembled an Illuminati sign.
The claim quickly gained traction online, triggering mixed reactions from fans and followers.
Rather than engaging seriously with the allegation, Hania chose to laugh it off.
Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress shared a screenshot revealing that the clip of Mishi Khan’s remarks had been forwarded to her by none other than her own mother.
Hania wrote, “Meri ami ne yeh mujhe bheja hai” (My mom has sent me this), followed by a cheeky question: “Meri ami aur Mishi Khan ko kaun bataega?” (Who is going to tell my mom and Mishi Khan?).
In a follow-up video, the actress continued the playful tone, jokingly pleading with people not to pile on more controversies.
“Mery pehly bohot masly hain, mat add karo aur,” she said, translating to, “I already have many issues, please don’t add more.”
Her lighthearted response was widely shared, with fans praising her ability to handle criticism with humour rather than hostility.
Hania also used the opportunity to poke fun at other viral rumours that have followed her over the years, including claims that her dimples are fake or the result of cosmetic surgery.
By addressing these theories sarcastically, she underscored what many of her supporters called the absurdity of such accusations.
While some social media users attempted to read symbolic meaning into the gesture, many fans – and Hania herself – dismissed it as nothing more than a casual “rock on” sign or a signature pose she often uses in photoshoots.
Several celebrities also stepped forward in solidarity with Hania, while fans took subtle jabs at Mishi Khan, suggesting the controversy was an attempt to ride on Hania’s massive popularity after a long absence from headlines.
