In an Instagram story, Fesl Khan reflected on how the couple navigated the transition into parenthood, especially while living away from extended family.
“Pakistan se ham door hein. Wahan apko pata hai itnay rishtedaar hotay hein, khandaan hota hai, yahan pardes mein ham akele hein, we’re just a couple here. It’s very difficult, matlab agar mein nahi hun ga tou kon ho ga, you know she will just get worse,” Fesl said, explaining that being present for his wife in a foreign country was, for him, non?negotiable.
The statement highlights the cultural shift the couple faced and the personal commitment he made to stand by Armeena through challenging moments.
Fesl also pointed to broader generational changes and the role of men in supporting mental health within the family.
“Ap waqt badal gaya hai, we’re in 2025. Our mums and grandmothers were quiet if somebody faced depression, and our fathers also did not teach us how to handle it, so we have to become better husbands over better father.”
With these words, he underlined that traditional norms around discussing emotional wellbeing are evolving, and that men today must be more attuned and supportive as partners and parents.
Describing the early months of his daughter’s life and Armeena’s struggles, Fesl added, “A lot changed in these 2 years, she went from being 10/10 to slowly getting impacted by mental and emotional crisis. So I couldn’t recognize her for 6 months, and I had also to lookafter the baby. So it’s very difficult but I have changed, and matured.”
His reflections paint a picture of the honest learning curve that accompanies both parenthood and supporting a partner through postpartum emotional shifts.
