For years, the singer carefully maintained a dual existence, building his musical persona around anonymity and letting the mask become his signature across music videos and live performances.
That carefully constructed world was shaken when the wedding clip surfaced online, revealing his face to the public for the first time.
The video quickly went viral, reaching him before he could even process what was happening.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Talwiinder opened up about the emotional impact of the moment.
He shared that nearly 500 people sent him the clip as it circulated.
He said, "I woke up to the video and saw my face everywhere. I was not in the right state of mind when I saw it.
I felt like my face was snatched away from me. My world turned upside down."
He went on to express his frustration at how the video was being used for online traction.
He said, "On top of that, you see people making content on it just to get some views.
That shows their true colours as well. Just for some views and likes, you are really going to use this content to get another piece out of it.
Even the person who gave the video to the media, why? For 5,000 INR,10,000 INR, or 50,000 INR?"
Talwiinder stressed that his work was never meant to be visual spectacle driven by his appearance.
He explained that his music is for listening, not for watching, and that the mask protected him from the constant expectation of “always looking fly” as well as from being recognised in public spaces.
Beyond the unmasking controversy, Talwiinder has also been in the spotlight for personal reasons.
His appearance at Nupur Sanon’s wedding drew additional attention when he was later spotted spending time with actor Disha Patani, igniting dating rumours.
The speculation intensified after the two were seen walking hand in hand at the Lollapalooza 2026 concert, leading many to believe their relationship was confirmed.
However, in the same interview, Talwiinder addressed the rumours, clarifying that he and Disha are still in the process of getting to know each other and are consciously avoiding the pressure created by public speculation.
