Legendary Qawwali Artist
Amjad Sabri was one of Pakistan’s most celebrated qawwali singers and belonged to the renowned Sabri Brothers musical family.
The group was founded by his father Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri along with his brother Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri, becoming one of the most influential Sufi qawwali groups in Pakistan.
Tragic Death in 2016
Amjad Sabri was shot dead in Liaquatabad, Karachi, on June 22, 2016, when gunmen opened fire on his car. He was 45 years old at the time.
His death shocked Pakistan’s music industry and fans across the world.
Lasting Legacy
Over the years, Amjad Sabri gained immense popularity for bringing traditional qawwali to younger audiences through powerful performances and spiritual compositions.
