Paris Fashion Week Continues Despite Global War Tensions 75764
    Description:

Major fashion houses Dior and Saint Laurent led the first main day of shows, presenting their women’s Fall/Winter 2026–2027 ready-to-wear collections in front of a global audience in the French capital.

Organisers from the Fédération de la Haute Couture and Fashion (FHCM) confirmed that there would be no cancellations or schedule changes, although authorities remain closely monitoring the global situation.

Irish designer Jonathan Anderson presented his latest collection for Dior at the historic Tuileries Gardens in central Paris.

The show drew inspiration from the famous Water Lilies paintings by impressionist artist Claude Monet.

A glass-covered runway was constructed over a pond, creating a unique catwalk setting that reflected the nature-inspired theme of the collection.

Fashion editors described the designs as a modern reinterpretation of Dior’s heritage, featuring fluid silhouettes and natural influences.

Meanwhile, Saint Laurent’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello celebrated his tenth anniversary with the brand by presenting a dramatic collection dominated by women’s tuxedos and dark lace fabrics.

The show featured top model Bella Hadid on the runway and attracted prominent guests including French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and K-pop singer Rosé.

Several international celebrities also attended the events, including singer and designer Pharrell Williams, French film icon Isabelle Adjani, and Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar.

Paris Fashion Week will continue in the coming days with shows from major fashion houses including Balmain, Stella McCartney, Dries Van Noten and Tom Ford.

Industry insiders say the event highlights the resilience of the global fashion industry, which continues to operate despite geopolitical uncertainty.
