In a recent interview, the former child star revealed that he personally did not enjoy the drama as much as many viewers did.
According to him, the show felt somewhat generic and received more hype than it deserved.
“It was a generic drama and it got a bit too overhyped,” he said while reflecting on the project.
“My Role Didn’t Require Much Effort”
Shees also admitted that his performance did not require a lot of acting effort at the time.
He explained that he mainly memorized his lines and delivered them, adding that he even felt he himself was overhyped after the drama’s massive success.
Despite his modest remarks, his character Rumi played an important role in the story and quickly made him a household name.

Although Shees Sajjad Gul now views the drama differently, Mere Paas Tum Ho remains one of the most iconic television projects in Pakistan, and his portrayal of Rumi is still remembered fondly by fans.
