Actor Ushna Shah recently took to the comments of her recent Instagram post to get over the “stigma” related to spa workers. After Shah shared a picture of herself receiving and manicure and pedicure, a user commented with reference to the two spa workers in the picture writing, “I feel pity for these ladies, even though it’s their job.”
The actor replied to the commenter defending the profession, writing, “Why, dude? They love their job and they’re great at it MashaAllah. I had to wash Sana Fakhar’s feet in Alif Allah Aur Insaan and I did it really well. Please get over yourselves and these stigmas. It’s just an image from a spa day.”

Another user lamented the lack of such luxury in the lives of so many people, to which the actor replied, “I am definitely blessed, but we all have problems and we have all been through our share of difficult times. I promise you, all that glitters isn’t gold. Nobody posts their dark times on social media. Sending love.”
Shah recently made the news for her critique of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming Netflix series Heeramandi, based on the locality in Lahore. Deeming it an appropriation of Pakistani culture, the actor wrote on social media, “Netflix doesn’t fund original projects for Pakistan. This is an opportunity taken away from Pakistani directors and filmmakers. Collaboration is one thing but this is appropriation.”
She continued, “Heeramandi is set in Lahore which is in Pakistan, and even if we abide by the pre-partition argument: Mughal history is often denied by India and it is what Pakistani history is set on (school books etc). India has a plethora of rich culture and history to base films on, whereas we predominantly relate to the Mughals. This would be like a Pakistani director making Mahabharata.”
