Shaniera Akram has always been a staunch advocate for children’s road safety, making it a point to educate her followers about the correct way to travel with kids. The activist took to social media once again on Tuesday to urge her audience to take child safety more seriously, sharing a series of screenshots from a YouTube video depicting the dangers of leaving children without seatbelts.
Sharing the post, Shaniera wrote, “[I] counted 70 cars in Defence this morning. 64 of them had children in the car without belts. Cars that HAVE seatbelts in them.” She continued, “Why would anyone ever be stupid enough to risk their child’s life when travelling in a car if they didn’t have to?”

She went on to urge her readers to make this a “happy Ramazan”, making child safety a priority.
Shaniera also took to her Instagram stories to elaborate further. Sharing how her father, who once served as a police officer, would attend to horrific road accidents involving children riding without seatbelts. “He said in almost every instance, the car carrying the children was not at fault and was always driving at a low speed,” she shared, adding that such actions were “blood chilling”.
“The worst accidents were the ones with small children… On impact, the child was almost always flung from the backseat, through the windshield and out onto the road,” explained Shaniera, adding in a separate story, “No parent should ever scream in regret because they could have protected their child but chose not to.”
In 2021, Shaniera made headlines after chastising celebrity couple Minal Khan and her fiance Ahsan Mohsin Ikram for not taking road safety measures seriously.
