Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who landed in New York on Monday evening, will represent Pakistan at the talks.
While White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt did not disclose the formal agenda, diplomatic sources suggested that the ongoing Israeli war in Gaza is expected to dominate discussions.
Leavitt said Trump will leave Washington for New York on Monday evening, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, ahead of the 80th UN General Assembly session.
Prior to Tuesday’s multilateral meeting, Trump is scheduled to address the General Assembly, where he will highlight the “renewal of American strength around the world,” criticize “globalist institutions that have significantly decayed the world order,” and present what Leavitt described as his “straightforward and constructive vision for the world.”
On Tuesday evening, Trump will host a reception for more than 100 world leaders before returning to DC, where he will host Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Leavitt adds.
