The military’s media wing said he was convicted of involvement in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act in a way that threatened national security, misusing authority and government resources, and causing unlawful harm to individuals.
The court-martial, conducted under the Pakistan Army Act, continued for 15 months before concluding that all charges against him were proven.
According to ISPR, the sentence took effect on December 11, 2025.
The institution added that the proceedings followed all legal procedures and that Faiz Hameed had full opportunity to choose and be represented by his defence team.
He also retains the right to appeal the verdict at the relevant forum.
The ISPR noted that matters related to political instability and other aspects were examined separately.
