On arrival, Lieutenant General Al-Asadi was presented a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force. During the discussions, the Air Chief highlighted the deep-rooted religious and historic ties between Pakistan and Iraq, emphasizing their importance as the foundation of enduring defence relations.
He reaffirmed PAF’s commitment to supporting the Iraqi Air Force in training and capacity building, while both sides agreed to conduct joint exercises to strengthen operational synergy.
The Iraqi Air Force Commander expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and lauded PAF’s transformation into a modern, technologically advanced force.
He emphasized Iraq’s aspiration to restructure its training system and sought PAF’s support in developing a modernized training framework.
He also appreciated PAF’s combat experience and proposed exchange postings for Iraqi pilots to benefit from Pakistani expertise.
Later, the Iraqi delegation visited the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park, National ISR & Integrated Air Operations Centre, and PAF Cyber Command, where they were briefed on PAF’s operational and technological advancements. The visit reflects the strong commitment of both countries to enhance defence collaboration and deepen bilateral military ties.
