Speaking to the media, Achakzai said the opposition’s position is clear: any security briefing should be delivered before the full Parliament rather than a select group of members.
“We were told to raise this point before the Prime Minister. I said we will consult our colleagues,” he stated.
Call for Joint Session
Achakzai suggested that the briefing be held either in a joint session of Parliament or at least in the Senate, stressing that the current regional situation is serious and requires transparency.
“The situation in the region is dangerous. Parliament should be taken into confidence,” he added.
He further said the opposition would formally communicate its decision to the government by tomorrow morning.

The demand comes amid escalating tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and heightened regional security concerns, prompting calls for broader political consensus on national security matters.
