According to security officials, Pakistani forces struck an ammunition depot at Shaheen Base in Paktika as part of the ongoing military operation “Ghazab-ul-Haq.” The operation is aimed at militant groups described by authorities as Fitna-al-Khawarij and elements backed by Fitna-al-Hindustan.
Officials said the strike caused significant damage to militant infrastructure and forced several fighters to abandon their positions and flee the area.
Militant Post Destroyed Near Waziristan
Security sources further stated that Pakistani forces also targeted a militant post located across the Afghan border adjacent to South Waziristan in the Shawal region.
Following the strike, militants reportedly fled the location, after which the post was completely destroyed using explosives. Authorities said operations against militant hideouts and installations across the border will continue until operational objectives are achieved.
Combing Operations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Meanwhile, law-enforcement agencies carried out large-scale combing and search operations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi targeting criminal elements and undocumented Afghan nationals.
Police conducted operations within the jurisdictions of Korral, Sumbal, Aabpara, Secretariat and Golra police stations.
During the operation:
43 suspicious individuals were arrested
37 motorcycles and two vehicles were taken into custody
Officials said the seized vehicles and suspects were shifted to police stations for further investigation.
Authorities added that security operations will continue to maintain law and order and counter cross-border militancy.
