According to the ISPR, the first operation was launched in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan after the presence of militants was confirmed through intelligence sources.
During the engagement, troops targeted the militants’ hideout and shot dead 10 Khawarij fighters, including their ringleader, Alam Mehsud.
In a second intelligence-based raid in Datta Khel, North Waziristan, security forces eliminated five additional militants belonging to the same network.
Sanitisation of the surrounding areas is underway to track down any remaining militants reportedly backed by India.
The ISPR said that Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism drive — Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan — will continue with full intensity to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism.
Earlier, on October 24, Pakistani forces had also neutralised eight Fitna-al-Khawarij militants in an operation in Lakki Marwat, KP.
The operation, carried out on October 24 in Wanda Sheikh Allah area of Lakki Marwat, resulted in killing of eight Fitna Al Khawarij and left five others seriously injured, security officials confirmed.
According to the sources, the operation was executed with high military precision, leaving the militants no chance to escape.
