The Al-Azaim Foundation has long been considered a key platform for ISIS-K’s recruitment and propaganda activities. Following the arrest, the group’s media operations, including the “Voice of Khorasan” platform, have been suspended.
The arrest, carried out on May 16, 2025, is part of a series of high-profile actions against ISIS-K in recent months, which also included the detention of senior leader Abu Yasser Al-Turki. These measures have weakened the organizational structure of ISIS-K, reduced the number of active fighters, neutralized key commanders and ideological leaders, and thwarted several planned attacks.
The sixteenth report of the United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team highlighted Pakistan’s role in curbing ISIS-K’s global operational strength and disrupting its propaganda networks. Authorities say the ongoing counterterrorism efforts continue to significantly degrade the group’s capabilities.
