Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned Israel’s aggression against Qatar on September 9. Both leaders expressed solidarity with Qatar, denouncing the violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity as reckless and a blatant breach of international law.
Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Egypt’s proactive diplomacy at this critical time, describing the Doha Arab–Islamic Summit as an important step to demonstrate unity within the Muslim world and to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
Recalling his meeting with the Egyptian President at the D-8 Summit in Cairo last December and their telephone conversations during Eid earlier this year, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Egypt, particularly in trade, investment, and health sectors.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact, especially in light of the evolving regional situation.
