During her visit, the Chief Minister interacted closely with the victims, consoled women, and assured them of full rehabilitation efforts. In a symbolic gesture of solidarity, she served food from the community kitchen and sat down with women and children to share a meal. Young girls embraced her warmly, expressing affection and gratitude.
Maryam Nawaz also engaged with children at the camp, asking about their studies and playing cricket with a young girl at her request. She bowled a ball and applauded as the girl struck a hit. The Chief Minister also distributed gifts among the affected families.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz expressed special thanks to the Pakistan Navy for its assistance in relief operations. The Deputy Commissioner of Muzaffargarh and the Director General of PDMA briefed her, informing that 394,000 people across 147 villages of Muzaffargarh district had been affected, with 26 villages submerged in Alipur tehsil alone.
Authorities have set up 37 flood relief camps and 8 tent cities where food, medicines, and other facilities are being provided to the victims.
