The Supreme Court (SC) initiated an investigation on Thursday into incarcerated PTI supremo Imran Khan's pictures going viral from within the courtroom as he appeared before the apex court via video link from Adiala jail.
The former premier appeared before a five-member larger bench of the SC, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, when it resumed hearing the government’s intra-court appeal against the apex court’s decision to nullify the NAB law amendments.
The court accepted the request of PTI founder Imran Khan to appear in the court via video link at the last hearing. This was the deposed premier's first public appearance in nine months.

It was believed that screenshots were taken by someone sitting on the left side of the courtroom.
The police deputed for the apex court's security questioned individuals and also intensified security checks for people entering the courtroom.
The apex court was already under scrutiny over its decision not to broadcast today's proceedings, despite live streaming the last hearing of the case via the SC's website and Youtube.
Barred from making public speeches owing to his convictions, the former premier's pictures flooded news feeds on social media website X after hundreds of accounts were quick to share them.
