The complaint was submitted by Col. (retd) Inam-ur-Rahim Advocate, alleging serious misconduct on the part of Justice Muhammad Asif. According to the complaint, two girls were killed after being hit by a car driven by the judge’s son.
It further alleged that Justice Asif’s 16-year-old son, Abuzar, was driving a non-customs-paid vehicle at the time of the incident. The complaint claimed that Justice Muhammad Asif used his influence and state machinery to pressure the heirs of the victims.
The petitioner alleged that the accused was granted bail after the statements of the heirs were secretly recorded. It was further stated that a judge is expected to uphold high moral standards and character.
The complaint maintained that instead of showing sympathy towards the victims’ families, Justice Muhammad Asif allegedly relied on pressure from government officials, amounting to a violation of the judicial code of conduct.
The Supreme Judicial Council has yet to take up the complaint for proceedings.
