Australia End T20 World Cup 2026 Campaign With Dominant Win Over Oman 75609
    Description:

Adam Zampa’s brilliant four-wicket haul and captain Mitchell Marsh’s unbeaten half-century steered Australia to a comfortable win as they chased down a modest 105-run target with ease.

Set to bat first, Oman were bowled out for 104 in 16.2 overs after Marsh opted to field.

The Australian bowling attack struck early, reducing Oman to 39/3 inside five overs.

Middle-order batter Wasim Ali attempted to stabilise the innings with a cautious 32 off 33 balls, but regular breakthroughs kept Oman under pressure.

Only Jatinder Singh (17), Hammad Mirza (16) and Karan Sonavale (12) managed to reach double figures besides Wasim.

Zampa was the standout performer with figures of 4/21 in 3.2 overs.

Glenn Maxwell and Xavier Bartlett claimed two wickets each, while Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Ellis picked up one apiece.

In reply, Australia chased down the target in just 9.4 overs, losing only one wicket and finishing with 62 balls to spare.

Marsh led from the front with an unbeaten 64 off 33 deliveries, smashing seven fours and four sixes.

He was well supported by Travis Head, who scored 32 off 19 balls as the pair added 93 runs for the opening wicket. After Head’s dismissal, Josh Inglis sealed the victory with a quickfire 12 not out.

Zampa was named Player of the Match for his match-winning performance.

Despite the emphatic victory, both Australia and Oman had already been eliminated from Super Eights contention.

Australia finished fourth in Group B with two points from three matches, while Oman ended their campaign at the bottom of the standings after losing all three group-stage games.
