Speaking on his UFC fight companion podcast, Rogan dismissed any possibility of making the trip, stating, “I don’t go to Canada anymore.”
The longtime UFC commentator has been vocal about his opposition to Canada’s government, previously vowing to avoid the country while Justin Trudeau was in office.
Despite Trudeau’s departure, Rogan remains critical of new Prime Minister Mark Carney, calling him “more of the same.”
During the podcast, cohost Brendan Schaub supported Rogan’s decision, urging him to “discipline” Canada by maintaining his boycott. Rogan joked that he would “rather go to Russia” than travel north of the border.
Rogan’s stance stems from his criticism of Canada’s policies, including free speech laws and government actions during the 2022 trucker protests. He has accused Canadian leaders of “tyranny” and an “erosion of people’s rights.”
With a snap election scheduled for April 28, it remains to be seen whether a change in leadership could alter Rogan’s position. However, for now, the UFC’s biggest voice won’t be in Montreal for one of the promotion’s marquee events.
