CERT Launches Probe Into Cyberattacks On Pakistani TV Channels Websites 75736
    Description:

    Special Meeting in Islamabad

A special meeting of the National CERT was held in Islamabad on Monday to assess the cyber incidents that occurred late Sunday night.

Cybersecurity experts and officials reviewed preliminary findings and agreed to initiate a comprehensive probe into the breaches.

Authorities said efforts are underway to determine the motive, origin and technical nature of the intrusions.

Coordination with relevant national institutions is ongoing.

CERT officials assured that a detailed report would be issued once the investigation is completed.

    Reports of Broadcast Disruptions

Officials confirmed receiving complaints regarding hacking attempts affecting multiple private news channels and digital platforms.

Unverified reports circulating on social media alleged that foreign-linked actors were behind the cyber intrusions, with claims that anti-Pakistan content was briefly aired.

Authorities, however, have not independently confirmed these allegations.

    Alleged Retaliatory Cyber Activity

Separately, reports suggested that a group described as Pakistan’s “Cyber Force” carried out retaliatory digital actions targeting an Indian broadcaster.

Claims emerged that pro-Pakistan slogans and military-related content were temporarily displayed during the alleged breach.

These claims remain unverified by official sources on either side.

    Ongoing Assessment

Officials emphasised that cyber defence mechanisms are being strengthened and that a full technical review is in progress to prevent further incidents.

The investigation comes amid heightened regional tensions, which experts say often coincide with spikes in cyber activity targeting media and critical information infrastructure.
